Film production support for The Five Misfortunes of Francois Jane included organizing a full shooting week in Český Krumlov for this independent romantic drama directed by Australian photographer Patrick Pearse.
Film production support for The Five Misfortunes of Francois Jane covered comprehensive research, location scouting and securing permits to capture the town’s magical and historical atmosphere as the emotional backdrop for the story’s climax.
Fixer service also involved providing an experienced film fixer and production coordinator, interpreting, transfers, a van with driver for the crew, equipment rental, detailed shooting schedule and bookings to ensure smooth production on location.
The film’s non-linear temporal arc is driven by the aesthetic and metaphorical states of consciousness of the characters, mainly the protagonist François Jane.
An independent, fictional human-interest feature, the story unfolds as an assemblage of tableaux that explore the complexity of human archetypes.
Jane’s journey evolves through the magnificence and sumptuous backdrop of present-day Paris – leading to an epiphany against the emotive, magical backdrop of Český Krumlov.
